The Fluency Factory
Moves to 165 Beal Street in Hingham
The Fluency Factory has been a Hingham fixture for
over five years now. During that time, we have helped hundreds
of children achieve their best performances. Early last year,
to accommodate continued growth, we moved from downtown Hingham to
165 Beal Street — a larger and better-equipped location.
“We loved our location in Hingham Square, but when we got busy our
little space got totally overwhelmed,” says Richard McManus,
Director of the tutoring center. “I looked for a
new location for almost two years, and 165 Beal Street is by far the best
possible spot.” The Beal Street site is only a mile and a tenth
away from Hingham Square. McManus says that the previous location simply
did not have enough room for all of the materials that the Center has
amassed, and the new location makes an enormous difference for
some kids.
“We serve many middle and high school girls, in particular athletes
who have very busy schedules and need to become more efficient in
their work. There is an underground pipeline among those
girls—they tell their friends that it is fun and it helps them to
excel.” McManus says this is not so true for boys. “Although
the boys need our tutoring services even more than girls, we weren't as successful in attracting boys in those age groups.
This new location provides more privacy for the self-conscious
student who does not want to be seen!”
Mr. McManus is also Director of the new
Beal Street Academy, which
has its classrooms at 165 Beal Street as well. “The new
location offers six classrooms, a library, and a separate space for
lunches and breaks. It provides a level of different group
spaces and privacy that we never had before. In addition,
the facility is handicapped accessible throughout and provides
a wheelchair ramp for entry.
